The Department of Construction at Malatya Turgut Özal University Darende Bekir Ilıcak Vocational School offers education through two programs: Construction Technology and Green and Ecological Building Technician. The department admitted its first students in 2013, while the Green and Ecological Building Technician Program, designed to contribute to sustainable building practices, welcomed its first students in 2025. Both programs aim to train graduates equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute to the development of the construction sector at both regional and national levels.

Construction Technology Program

The Construction Technology Program provides comprehensive education in areas such as construction materials, reinforced concrete, steel structures, soil mechanics, structural analysis, and project reading and implementation. Graduates of the program can work as technicians on construction sites, in design offices, building inspection companies, and public institutions. The program equips students with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, enabling them to become qualified professionals sought after in the sector.

Green and Ecological Building Technician Program

This program, established on the principle of sustainability, focuses on the design and implementation of environmentally friendly, energy-efficient, healthy, and innovative buildings. Students specialize in subjects such as renewable energy use, ecological materials, energy efficiency, and green building certification systems. The aim of the program is to train qualified technicians capable of developing environmentally friendly technical solutions to help build the cities of the future.
